Silent Chorus

Oil on canvas · 130 × 110 cm

Four arches rise side by side in violet, magenta, cyan and mint — a choir holding one quiet note. The composition came from the tiled cloisters of a Lisbon monastery, stripped of every detail but rhythm.

It is the calmest painting in the collection, and deliberately so: a resting place between louder neighbours.
